Anniversary Festival of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Regelsbach 1876–2026
The Volunteer Fire Brigade Regelsbach was founded in 1876 – making it one of the oldest fire brigades in the Roth district. For over 150 years, it has not only extinguished fires but also played a central role in village life: as an association, as a point of contact for accidents, and as a co-organizer of village festivals. The 150th anniversary in 2026 will be celebrated with a four-day festival weekend.
The program follows the classic Bavarian fire brigade festival structure:
Regelsbach is a district of the municipality of Rohr in Middle Franconia in the Roth district. The municipality is located between Roth and Schwabach, in southern Middle Franconia. With around 200 inhabitants, Regelsbach is a small village – all the more remarkable that the FFW has been active for 150 years and is organizing a festival of this size. This is typical of the Middle Franconian fire brigade culture, where volunteer fire brigades are pillars of village life.
For the festival weekend, the FFW Regelsbach is cooperating with a regional festival host and with friendly fire brigades and clubs from the Roth district. This network is a prerequisite for an anniversary festival of this magnitude: the festival tent, catering, parade, and safety and logistics concept cannot be managed without the association network.
The 2026 anniversary festival is the largest event for the fire brigade in years. The organizers (FFW Regelsbach with support from the Roth District Fire Brigade Association) have deliberately planned the program over four days to effectively involve both the regional fire brigade family and the local population.
The parade on Sunday, September 13, is the main event of the anniversary weekend: friendly fire brigades from the Roth district and neighboring districts will march through Regelsbach with historical uniforms, standards, music bands, and fire engines. The parade will be accompanied by the local population along the route, after which the procession will return to the festival tent.
A festival service with a pastor and a blessing of the fire engine is part of the program. Honors for deserving members and officials will complement the festival program.
