What the Gourmetsommer at Burg Wissem was

The Gourmetsommer was a culinary festival organized by the City of Troisdorf in the courtyard of Burg Wissem. The city promoted it as an "oasis for wine lovers and foodies," featuring around 15 selected gastronomic stalls offering regional and international specialties, accompanied by fine wines and a program for both adults and children. The event typically spanned a weekend in late August, running from Friday evening through Sunday.

The 2026 edition had been planned for August 21–23, with opening hours on Friday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It did not take place.

Burg Wissem — The Venue

Burg Wissem, located at Burgallee 1, is the landmark of Troisdorf in the Rhein-Sieg district. The history of the former manor dates back to the Merovingian period. Since 1982, the castle has housed the only European museum for picture book art and children's book illustration. The adjacent former administration building houses the tourist information office, the Museum for Town and Industrial History of Troisdorf (MUSIT), and the Wahner Heide portal. The walled courtyard was used by the city for various events.
