Grand city centre festival with stage programme, Sunday shopping, and 50th anniversary of Troisdorf
2026 is a special year for the city of Troisdorf in the Rhein-Sieg district: the current district town in southern North Rhine-Westphalia is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The present-day city area was formed from several districts during the municipal reforms of 1975. The traditional Familienfest in 2026 will be particularly focused on the city anniversary celebrations – motto: "Troisdorf – A Family Affair!".
For two days, the Familienfest will fill Kölner Straße and adjacent squares in Troisdorf's centre with life. Around 50 market stalls will offer regional products, handicrafts, and snacks. Children will find hands-on activities, small carousels, and free play areas. Admission is free.
In 2026, the Familienfest will feature a packed stage programme. On Saturday, Lena Büter (12–1:30 PM) will start with an interactive quiz in the style of her social media format, answering questions from children. Afterwards, the family duo SEM (2–3 PM) will provide pop and rock for kindergarten and primary school children, followed by dance groups mixing modern dance, contemporary, and tango (4–5 PM). The evening will be rounded off by Cologne's Bad Goats (6–8 PM) with vintage garage rock.
On Sunday, Joaquino Payaso (1:30–2 PM) will open interactively with clowning, props, and juggling. This will be followed by the student band POPCORN from the Troisdorf music school (3–4 PM) and the cover band FREE (4–5 PM) with funk and pop.
The highlight of the second day of the festival is the Sunday shopping: shops in Troisdorf's city centre will open their doors, inviting visitors to stroll and shop. Combined with the market stalls, the stage, and the children's activities, this creates a city centre experience that goes far beyond a normal weekend.
Troisdorf is conveniently located between Bonn and Cologne and is a hub for both rail and motorway travel. Those arriving from Cologne, Siegburg, or the Bonn region at the weekend can reach the festival grounds in a five-minute walk from Troisdorf train station.
The Troisdorf Familienfest takes place annually – in 2026, it coincides with the 50th-anniversary celebrations, significantly increasing the programme's depth and attention. It is one of the city's central city centre festivals, alongside the Stadtfest (city festival), the Erntedankfest (harvest festival) at Burg Wissem, and other major events.
As part of the city anniversary, the 2026 Familienfest features a packed stage programme and around 50 market stalls. Saturday from 11 AM–8 PM, Sunday from 11 AM–7 PM, including Sunday shopping. Children's activities and music are free.
Free admission to all programme points.
