The Freyunger Volksfest is one of the most traditional and popular Volksfests in the Bavarian Forest. For five days, the festival grounds on Zuppinger Straße in Freyung offer a diverse program – supported by hearty brass music, convivial beer tent atmosphere, and a colorful amusement park.
Festival Kick-off with Parade and Beer Tapping
The festival opens on Friday with a concert in the town square starting at 4:00 PM. This is followed by a parade with assembly in front of Wolfstein Castle and the traditional beer tapping, which marks the official start of the festival.
Program and Amusement Rides
On the following days, various renowned music groups and bands ensure the right atmosphere in the beer tent, along with a lunch menu. Attractive and spectacular amusement rides guarantee entertaining hours for the whole family. Special program highlights include the seniors' afternoon on Saturday and, on Monday, the "Day for People with Disabilities" and the "Day for Authorities, Businesses, and Farmers.".
