Three Days of Palatinate Wine, Ferris Wheel, and Sunday Shopping in the Shoe Metropolis
While most Palatinate wine markets fill the summer and early autumn, the Pirmasens November Market sets a late accent. The large wine tent on Schloßplatz brings together vintners from the Palatinate, who serve their current vintages — from fresh Riesling and Spätburgunder to the young Federweißer, which is particularly fitting for the season.
For decades, Schloßplatz in the center of Pirmasens has been the stage for major city festivals. The Ferris wheel in front of the Pirminius Church is the visual trademark of the November Market and features on postcards and press photos of the event. From the Ferris wheel, you get a view over the city center of the shoe metropolis and the surrounding Wasgau region.
Around the wine tent, culinary stands offer Palatinate specialties: Saumagen (pig's stomach stuffed with pork), Leberknödel (liver dumplings) with Sauerkraut, Flammkuchen (a type of thin-crust pizza), chestnuts, and sweet temptations like Schmalzgebäck (fried dough pastries) and Lebkuchen (gingerbread). Live music on stage in the tent creates a festive atmosphere on all three evenings — from cover bands and Palatinate dialect groups to classic wine festival sounds.
On Sunday, the shops in Pirmasens city center also open. The combination of the market, a stroll through the city, and wine service makes the November Market a family outing. The city organizes special events and activities for children along the main routes around Schloßplatz.
The November Market is organized by the City Marketing department of Pirmasens. It marks the late highlight of the Palatinate wine festival season and bridges the gap to the Advent markets that begin a few weeks later.
The exact stage program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in advance. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
