Three days, 14 clubs, two stages – the big community festival on the first August weekend
The Otterfinger Dorffest has taken place every year since 2003 on the first August weekend. Originally initiated to mark the 1000th anniversary of the municipality of Otterfing, it is now a firm institution in the festival calendar of the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach. Otterfing is located in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps, south of Munich, nestled between Holzkirchen and the Tegernsee valley.
The special thing about the Otterfinger Dorffest is its character as a true community festival: 14 local clubs organize the festival together and run stalls with food and drinks. Live music and entertainment alternate on two stages, ensuring continuous entertainment over three days. TSV Otterfing and other clubs, such as the veterans' and soldiers' association, are among the main pillars of the festival.
The festival lasts for three days with the following opening hours:
Sunday morning is particularly suitable for families, while the evenings are celebrated with live music late into the night.
The Otterfinger Dorffest is an example of the vibrant club culture in the Upper Bavarian Bavarian Pre-Alps. It is not a large commercial event, but a festival supported by the village community, combining tradition, conviviality, and volunteer commitment. For visitors from outside, it is an opportunity to authentically experience Upper Bavarian festival culture in the Miesbach district – with brass band music, delicacies, and the established community of an entire village.
The Otterfinger Dorffest 2026 will be celebrated on the traditional date of the first August weekend over three days. 14 local clubs will organize the festival together and run stalls with food and drinks; live music and entertainment will alternate on two stages.
