37th Edition — largest consumer fair in the German-Belgian-Dutch border region with focus on Equestrian World Championship, March 7–15, 2026
The EUREGIO Wirtschaftsschau has been the largest and most established consumer fair in the German-Belgian-Dutch three-country region since 1989. From March 7 to 15, 2026, the 37th edition will take place on the CHIO grounds in Aachen (Soers) — nine days of fair with around 250 exhibitors on 20,000 m² of space. The organizer is Medienhaus Aachen Event GmbH, behind which the Aachener Zeitung and Aachener Nachrichten stand.
The fair is aimed at end consumers and combines four pillars:
The exhibitors come from the entire Euregio Maas-Rhein: Aachen, Cologne-Bonn, Dutch Limburg (Maastricht), Liège, and German-speaking Belgium (Eupen, Sankt Vith). This international mix makes the fair unique in Germany.
The 2026 edition is thematically dedicated to the Equestrian World Championship, which Aachen will host in 2026. The city is using the Wirtschaftsschau to bring the upcoming major sporting event closer to the public:
The CHIO grounds in the Aachen district of Soers is the world's most famous equestrian arena: The CHIO Aachen (Concours Hippique International Officiel) has been held here since 1924, the annual “World Festival of the Equestrian Sport”. With the 2026 Equestrian World Championship, the grounds will become a global stage. For the Wirtschaftsschau, it offers ideal infrastructure: large exhibition halls, spacious outdoor areas, excellent connectivity, free parking.
Aachen (approx. 250,000 inhabitants) is the westernmost major city in Germany and is located directly at the three-country point of Germany-Belgium-Netherlands. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Aachen Cathedral — Coronation Church of Charlemagne), is home to the RWTH Aachen (over 40,000 students, largest technical university in Germany), and is an important industrial, research, and tourism city. The EUREGIO Wirtschaftsschau attracts over 100,000 visitors to the CHIO grounds every March.
