Start of the 75th Four Hills Tournament 2026/2027
Since the winter of 1952/53, the Four Hills Tournament has been an integral part of the international ski jumping season. With the opening jump in Oberstdorf, one of the most famous ski jumping events worldwide traditionally begins between Christmas and New Year. The 2026/2027 season marks the 75th anniversary tournament – an occasion that guarantees special attention.
The large hill stadium at the Schattenberg in Oberstdorf can accommodate around 27,000 spectators. The current hill record is 143.5 m, set by Norwegian Sigurd Pettersen on December 29, 2003. In clear weather, the stadium offers a view of the Allgäu Alps – a backdrop that makes the opening jump unmistakable worldwide.
More than 20 nations send their best ski jumpers to the Faltenbachtobel. The competitions are broadcast live in over 30 countries; public broadcasters (ZDF, ARD, ORF, SRF, Eurosport) provide extensive coverage. For the Allgäu region and the district of Oberallgäu, the tournament opener is the media equivalent of the summer counterpart to winter.
Oberstdorf is located in the southernmost tip of Germany, in the Oberallgäu district of Bavaria. The market town is not only a ski jumping center but also hosted the Nordic Ski World Championships in 2005 and 2021. A ski jumping stadium, a Nordic combined arena, and three other jumping facilities form a world-class Nordic competence center in the region.
The 2026/2027 tournament season is the 75th edition of the Four Hills Tournament – an anniversary that will be celebrated with its opening in Oberstdorf. After the opening jump, the tour continues to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (New Year's Jump), Innsbruck (Bergisel), and Bischofshofen, where the tournament winner will be crowned.
On-site, fan zones, catering, a ski jumping exhibition, and the traditional after-race program create a vibrant atmosphere. Families, fans, and sports enthusiasts from around the world experience one of the highlights of the Allgäu winter.
Detailed times will be published by the International Ski Federation FIS and the Oberstdorf Ski Club in due course on vierschanzentournee.com. After the opening jump, the tour moves on to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (January 1, 2027), Innsbruck (January 3–4), and Bischofshofen (January 5–6).
