A Club Festival with History
What began in 1994 as a small idea by the Concordia Straßbessenbach singing club is now a firm fixture in the festival calendar of Bavarian Lower Main: the Fischfest at the Bessenbachhalle. It traditionally takes place on the Sunday after Pentecost — a date that has hardly changed for three decades.

Bessenbach and the Spessart
Bessenbach is located in the Aschaffenburg district on the western edge of the Spessart. The municipality comprises several districts, including Straßbessenbach, where the Concordia singing club is based. The Bessenbachhalle serves not only as a stage for the Fischfest but also as a meeting point for numerous club events — from men's choir concerts to open-air Frühschoppen organized by SV Eintracht.
A Club That Sings and Celebrates
In addition to the men's choir and the preservation of Franconian song tradition, the Concordia Straßbessenbach singing club also cultivates social club life. The Fischfest is its most important public event of the year — and at the same time an important source of income for the choir's work.

The 2026 edition of the Fischfest seamlessly continues the tradition from 1994. The Concordia Straßbessenbach singing club invites you on Sunday, May 31, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at the Bessenbachhalle. The program includes: Frühschoppen with brass music, continuous fish sales, Franconian specialties, and a convivial afternoon in a beer garden atmosphere.
In 2026, the Concordia men's choir will also contribute performances in the afternoon, supplemented by friendly singing and music clubs from the Bessenbachtal valley and surrounding areas.

Bessenbach is located directly on the A3 motorway (Bessenbach-Waldaschaff exit) between Aschaffenburg and Würzburg. By car, it's about 10 minutes from Aschaffenburg; accessible by bus from Aschaffenburg main station. The Bessenbachhalle is located in the Straßbessenbach district.
