On Sunday, September 6, 2026, the municipality, clubs, organisations, and businesses will transform the town centre around the main street into an open festival stage with catering stands, live music, a family programme, and a photo and local history exhibition. The festival heralds a whole autumn of festivities: on Monday, September 7, the Kerbfest (church festival) of the volunteer fire brigade follows, and on September 20, the Ebbelwoifest (apple wine festival) of the music association in the Erwin-Braun-Festhalle.

The Dorffest Hausen 2026 will take place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM in the town centre around Hauptstraße 64. The municipality of Hausen, local clubs, organisations, and businesses are jointly organising the civic festival with catering stands, live music, a local history area, and a family programme. The main street will be closed to through traffic from Saturday 3:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM.

31st Edition of the Hausen Dorffest

In 2026, the municipality of Hausen is organising the next edition of its traditional village festival. As in previous years, the event will take place in the town centre around Hauptstraße 64, starting at 10:00 AM. Stand operators will begin setting up at 7:30 AM; the festival begins after setup is complete.

The Dorffest is part of a small Hausen festival autumn: on Monday, September 7, the fire brigade's Kerbfest follows, and on September 20, the music association's Ebbelwoifest takes place in the Erwin-Braun-Festhalle.

Getting There

By car via the A3 (Aschaffenburg-West exit) or the B26 towards Spessart. By train to Aschaffenburg Hauptbahnhof, then take bus line 41 to Hausen. During the closure of the main street, access to the festival grounds is only possible on foot.

Dorffest Hausen – Civic Festival with History

The Dorffest Hausen is one of the oldest civic festivals in the western Spessart. Since 1995, the Municipality of Hausen, together with local clubs, organisations, and businesses, has organised this festival every first Sunday in September – in 2024, the 29th edition was already on the calendar; in 2026, the approximately 31st edition will follow. The venue is the town centre around Hauptstraße 64.

Hausen in the Aschaffenburg District

With around 2,000 inhabitants, Hausen is a small Spessart community in the western district of Aschaffenburg (Lower Franconia, Bavaria). Its location between the Hochspessart and the Maintal makes it a typical representative of "Churfranken culture" – apple wine tradition, Kerbfeste, and well-kept village festival customs shape the festival calendar.

What Happens at the Dorffest

The main street will be closed to through traffic from Saturday afternoon; the festival begins on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Stands in the town centre will be run by clubs, aid organisations, and local businesses. The programme is diverse:

Music: from performances by Harmonie Hausen (brass band) and folk music ensembles to rock cover bands and party formats. In recent years, award-winning young artists such as Jona Brand have also performed.
Local History: the local history and heritage association offers genealogical research based on its extensive archive.
Photo Exhibition: a changing exhibition on Hausen's local history.
Family Programme: interactive stands and activities for children.
Cuisine: Coffee, cake, Franconian specialities, Spessart beer, apple wine.

The Dorffest is not just one day, but the kick-off to a small festival autumn: on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM, the FFW Kerbfest of the Volunteer Fire Brigade takes place at the fire station yard. On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the Music Association invites you to the Ebbelwoifest in the Erwin-Braun-Festhalle on Dornauer Weg – an apple wine festival typical of Spessart apple wine culture.

Traffic Regulations

The main street in the town centre will be closed for the Dorffest – from Saturday 3:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM. Residents and guests are asked to observe the diversion signs and to walk through the festival grounds.
