Largest Kirmes in the Hunsrück with several music stages, showmen, and cooperation with the Morbacher Musiksommer
The municipality of Morbach, with its numerous districts, is one of the largest municipalities in Rhineland-Palatinate and the economic center of the Hunsrück. The St.-Anna-Kirmes is the municipality's largest event and one of the most important dates in the Hunsrück festival calendar. It has been celebrated for generations around the feast day of Saint Anne (July 26th).
From Friday, July 24th, to Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, the Morbach festival grounds will transform into a large festival area with all the elements of a classic Volksfest: showmen with carousels, roller coaster elements, dodgems, wave flyers, and children's rides, snack stands, candy stalls, beer gardens, and festival tents with live bands.
A special feature of the Morbacher St.-Anna-Kirmes is the musical program on several stages. Cover bands, regional acts, and dance bands alternate. The main stage in the festival tent provides a packed dance program late into the night.
An important characteristic of the event is the close cooperation with the parallel Morbacher Musiksommer. Concerts of the Musiksommer (July 24th–27th) take place partly on the Kirmes stage and enrich the musical program with high-quality open-air acts.
As with many traditional Kirmes festivals, a festival parade is one of the highlights here, supplemented by traditional elements such as the keg tapping on the opening day, a children's afternoon with reduced prices, and a final fireworks display on Tuesday evening.
The 2026 edition follows the traditional concept. For five days, Volksfest, music, and traditions shape the image of the municipality of Morbach.
The integration with the Morbacher Musiksommer allows visitors to experience an expanded musical program that goes beyond the usual Kirmes format.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
Concerts of the Morbacher Musiksommer during the period July 24th–27th on the KIRNER stage.
Morbach is located in the Hunsrück, easily accessible via the B 50 (Hochmosel Bridge) and the B 269. Train connections are available via Wittlich or Bullay with a bus connection.
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Rides and refreshments are paid for on-site.
