Falkensee — Showman Tradition for Over Two Decades

Falkensee, with around 45,000 inhabitants, is the largest town in the Havelland district and lies directly west of Berlin-Spandau. The Herbstfest at Gutspark has established itself as a fixture in Falkensee's event calendar since the 2000s — alongside the Stadtfest (town festival) in September and the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) in December, it's one of the town's three major Volksfest (public festival) dates. In 2026, the 22nd edition will take place on the proven festival grounds at Gutspark.

Gutspark Festival Grounds — A Backdrop with Character

The venue is the Gutspark festival grounds on Geschwister-Scholl-Straße, a former park area in the centre of Falkensee. Its location in town — a five-minute walk from the town centre, yet within a peaceful park setting — makes the Herbstfest family-friendly. Parking is available free of charge on the festival grounds.

Around 20 Showmen — The Classic Autumn Fair

Around 20 showmen gather on the grounds with the classic fair assortment: children's Ferris wheel, dodgems, Breakdance ride, chain carousel, shooting gallery, lottery stalls, grabber machines. In addition, there are food stalls with traditional fair catering: freshly prepared half-meter bratwurst, almonds, candy floss, crêpes, potato pancakes, mulled wine, and children's punch. Family-friendly atmosphere, free entry, rides are ticketed.

Wednesday Family Day — Reduced Prices

A tradition of the Herbstfest is Wednesday as Family Day: rides are significantly cheaper on this day, and many showmen offer special prices or kids-go-free promotions. Weekends are the busiest days, with fireworks regularly held on Saturdays. Over two weeks, the festival attracts thousands of visitors from Falkensee, Havelland, and Berlin-Spandau.

Down-to-Earth, Family-Friendly, Rich in Tradition

The Falkenseer Herbstfest belongs to the category of down-to-earth autumn fair events that take place in many medium-sized Brandenburg towns between early October and mid-November — tradition, family entertainment, showman craftsmanship in the third and fourth generation. Free entry. Accessible in under 30 minutes from Berlin Hauptbahnhof via the RE6 connection, making it feasible as a day trip from the capital.
