Three Days of Maritime Flair
The Kühlungsborn Harbour Festival is one of the summer highlights of the Baltic Sea resort and attracts thousands of visitors to the marina in Kühlungsborn-Ost every year. The festival is organised by the Tourismus, Freizeit & Kultur GmbH Kühlungsborn.
Programme
Maritime market stalls, regional food stands with fish and North German specialities, stages with live music, and a varied children's programme with a carousel and hands-on activities line the harbour edge. Beach parties and festival parades complete the weekend.
Tradition
The Harbour Festival is part of the North German tradition of maritime Volksfeste (folk festivals) celebrated every summer in almost all harbours along the Baltic Sea coast. In Kühlungsborn, it has consistently been designed as a family festival for years – admission is free.
Local Context
The marina in Kühlungsborn-Ost is the largest yacht and sports boat harbour on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast. Kühlungsborn is located in the Rostock district and is the largest Baltic Sea resort in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with over three kilometres of beach promenade.
Harbour Festival — edition 2026
From August 28th to 30th, 2026, the marina in Kühlungsborn-Ost will transform into a maritime festival mile. Live music, a colourful children's programme, a carousel, culinary stalls with regional cuisine, and beach parties will accompany the weekend. As every year, there will be festival parades and a diverse stage programme right on the harbour edge.

By the Bäderbahn Molli narrow-gauge railway (terminus Kühlungsborn-Ost) or regional bus from Rostock and Bad Doberan. By car via the A20 motorway (exit Bad Doberan).
