The Kühlungsborn Summer Spectacle is one of the most colorful summer festivals on the German Baltic Sea coast. For three days, the Kühlungsborn Carnival Club brings its carnival tradition to the Baltic Sea – with a grand samba parade, children's parade, beach party, fireworks, and a Sunday matinee at the harbor.

The 31st Kühlungsborn Summer Spectacle takes place from July 24th to 26th, 2026. The grand samba parade on Saturday, children's parade, beach party with live music, fireworks, and Sunday matinee at the harbor characterize the weekend.

From July 24th to 26th, 2026, the Kühlungsborn Carnival Club (FKK) e.V. invites you to the 31st Summer Spectacle. The highlight is the grand samba parade on Saturday, July 25th: starting at 3:00 PM at Hotel Waldkrone, via Balticplatz, Ostseeallee, Strandstraße, and Dünenstraße to Herrenbadsteig. The children's parade precedes it. In the evening, a beach party follows on the event beach with live music (from 7:30 PM) and a beach party with DJs (from 10:00 PM). Sunday concludes with a matinee at the harbor.

Getting There

By the Bäderbahn Molli narrow-gauge railway or regional bus from Rostock and Bad Doberan. By car via the A20 (exit Bad Doberan). During the parade on Saturday, Ostseeallee and parts of the town center are closed.

Carnival on the Baltic Sea

The Kühlungsborn Summer Spectacle is the summer version of carnival, organized by the Kühlungsborn Carnival Club (FKK) e.V. The club has succeeded in bringing a tradition that has no ancient roots in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to the Baltic Sea – and making it one of the region's largest summer festivals.

The Grand Samba Parade

The highlight of each year is the samba parade on Saturday afternoon. Dance groups, carnival clubs, and musicians from all over Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Germany march in colorful costumes from the Hotel Waldkrone via Balticplatz, Ostseeallee, and Strandstraße to Herrenbadsteig. A children's parade precedes it.

Program

Friday is for the opening, Saturday is the big parade and party day, and Sunday concludes with a matinee at the harbor. Beach parties on the event beach with live music (from 7:30 PM) and fireworks are an integral part of the program.

Local Context

Kühlungsborn is located in the district of Rostock and, with over three kilometers of beach promenade, is Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's largest Baltic seaside resort. The Summer Spectacle extends the peak season in July and is considered a tourist flagship of the town.
