The Weltmusik-Tage Kühlungsborn are the early summer concert series of the Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn. On three evenings, artists from various world music traditions meet — from Argentinian tango to German-language singer-songwriter art — playing for a maximum of one hundred guests directly on the Baltic Sea.

From June 18th to 20th, 2026, the Weltmusik-Tage Kühlungsborn will bring together three concert evenings at the Kunsthalle. The opening on June 18th will feature the Tango A Quartett from Aachen with a program ranging from Guardia Vieja to Tango Nuevo. Marty Hall will follow on June 19th, and Ulla Meinecke on June 20th. All concerts start at 8:00 PM in the hall with a sea view.

World Music in the Small Hall

The Weltmusik-Tage Kühlungsborn are one of the established early summer formats of the Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn. The series shows that world music doesn't have to take place in large open-air festivals — three concert evenings in a hall with one hundred seats are enough to showcase stylistic diversity from Argentinian tango and English-language folk to the German-language singer-songwriter tradition.

Program

Trios, quartets, and solo artists perform on three consecutive evenings. The concerts start at 8:00 PM each day. Stylistic breadth is intentional: Argentinian tango alongside folk, singer-songwriter alongside world music crossover projects.

Organizer

The organizer is the Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn, which also hosts the Jazz Meeting, the Chamber Music Days, the Piano Days, and the Cabaret Days in the same hall.

Local Context

Kühlungsborn, with its over three-kilometer beach promenade, is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's largest Baltic Sea resort and is located in the Rostock district. The Weltmusik-Tage are part of the cultural summer program that opens the main tourist season.
