Season Kick-off on the Baltic Sea
The Kühlungsborner Stadtfest is the traditional season opener for the Baltic Sea resort. It begins on May 1st and uses the long weekend to unite the first spring guests, locals, and the town's clubs under one big, very family-friendly umbrella.
Program
The kick-off on May 1st in Lindenpark combines a flea market, beer barrel tapping, the maritime song of the Reriker Heulbojen, and a children's parade. Friday features the stage program at the harbor basin with live music, stilt walkers, and a DJ parade. Saturday is dedicated to the club fair at the school center, followed by live music in the West Concert Garden. The grand finale is the big town picnic in Lindenpark with a church service, a hands-on circus program, and a brass band concert.
Free Admission
The town festival is financed by trade revenues, sponsorship, and municipal funds. Admission is free everywhere, including the club fair and the town picnic.
Local Context
Kühlungsborn is located in the Rostock district and, with over three kilometers of beach promenade, is the largest Baltic Sea resort in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The town festival ushers in the main season, which runs until mid-October.
Stadtfest — edition 2026
From May 1st to 3rd, 2026, Kühlungsborn invites you to its town festival. On May 1st (Thursday), the flea market opens in Lindenpark at 10:00 AM; the Reriker Heulbojen will provide maritime flair. The Faschingsklub will liven up the atmosphere from 12:00 PM, the student band Neptunes will play at 1:00 PM, and Strandfunk will perform from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. On Friday, May 2nd, the Reriker Heulbojen will take over the harbor basin from 12:00 PM, and the colorful parade with DJ Carsten will start at 3:00 PM. On Saturday, May 3rd, the club fair will be presented from 10 AM to 5 PM at Balticplatz, followed by live music in the West Concert Garden in the evening. The finale on Sunday will be the town picnic in Lindenpark (from 9:30 AM), a church service, and afternoon concerts.
