“Brot & Butter” Pop-up with regional products at Weingut Marx Windesheim
Weingut Marx in Windesheim is participating in the Nahe Season Opening 2026 with a charming pop-up format themed “Brot & Butter”. On three evenings – Thursday to Saturday (April 16–18), starting at 5 p.m. each day – the winery will transform into a relaxed meeting point for connoisseurs. The focus is on regional products: artisan bread, homemade butter variations, regional cheese, cold cuts and spreads, paired with the winery's current vintage wines.
Windesheim is a municipality in the Trollbachtal valley, nestled in a landscape of vineyards, orchards, and forests. With around 1,200 inhabitants, it is one of the smaller wine-growing communities in the region, but has preserved a vibrant wine culture with wineries like Marx.
The “Brot & Butter” concept taps into a culinary trend that celebrates simplicity and craftsmanship. Freshly baked bread with high-quality butter is the most original form of cuisine – and at the same time, one that is often forgotten in our fast-paced times. At Weingut Marx, this simplicity is celebrated: with bread from a local baker, homemade butter variations (salted butter, herb butter, bacon butter, salted honey butter) and the connection to the winery's wines.
In addition to bread and butter, other regional products are presented: cheese from local Nahe dairies, cold cuts from local butchers, spreads, honey, pickled vegetables, jams. The selection varies depending on the day and seasonal availability. The atmosphere is relaxed, almost like a wine picnic in the courtyard or the wine shop.
Weingut Marx is a family winery in Windesheim, primarily cultivating Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, as well as Pinot Noir. Like many smaller Nahe wineries, the estate focuses on artisanal, terroir-oriented winemaking. During the Season Opening, the winery is not only highlighted as a producer but also as a host with a clear conceptual idea.
Windesheim is located in the Trollbachtal valley within the Langenlonsheim-Stromberg administrative district. Its proximity to Burg Layen, Rümmelsheim, and the vineyards above the Trollbach makes it a characteristic wine-growing location in the northern Nahe region. During the Season Opening, the region offers numerous other participating wineries worth visiting.
