One of the most traditional sports festivals in Havelland — the 53rd edition in the Stadthalle Falkensee
Falkensee is located directly on the western edge of Berlin, in the Havelland district, and with around 45,000 inhabitants, it is one of Brandenburg's fastest-growing cities. The town has an astonishingly active club culture — especially in sports. The Falkensee Gymnastics Club and other sports clubs shape urban life through regular events, competitions, and festivals. The Falkensee Summer is one of the oldest and most visible of these club formats — the 53rd edition in 2026 shows: tradition is maintained and cherished here.
With its 53rd edition in 2026, the Falkensee Summer is one of Brandenburg's oldest continuously held sports festivals. Its history dates back to the 1970s — originally started as a pure gymnastics festival, the Falkensee Summer has evolved over time into a more broadly based sports event without losing its roots in gymnastics. Athletes from children to seniors — all age groups compete. Clubs from all over Havelland and sometimes beyond travel here.
The 2026 program structure combines two days of sports and festival culture: Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, 2026, each with gymnastics demonstrations, choreographies, and exhibition gymnastics. You will experience classic gymnastics apparatus (horizontal bar, parallel bars, floor, balance beam) as well as gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, and sometimes trampoline. The Stadthalle provides the stage — a professional hall with good visibility and acoustics. Accompanying program with snacks, drinks, and family activities.
The Falkensee Summer is not just a competition, but also a social event. Clubs, coaches, families meet here — and the entire city community comes into contact with local sports culture. In a time when many small sports clubs are struggling, the Falkensee Summer is a successful example of how a club and a city can keep a sporting tradition alive for more than five decades together.
