Three Days of Culture, Rock, and Family Entertainment on the Campusplatz in Havelland
With around 45,000 inhabitants, Falkensee is the largest town in the Havelland district and is located directly west of Berlin-Spandau. In the past three decades, the town has developed into one of the most dynamic growth regions around Berlin – many commuters live here but work in the capital. The town festival at the beginning of September is one of the most important identity builders for this young, growing city.
The venue is the Campusplatz in the middle of Falkensee – a modern square that is perfectly suited for stage concerts, market stalls, and family events. The organizer is the Interessengemeinschaft Falkensee e.V. (IGF), which connects business, associations, and the town under its umbrella. In 2026, the festival duration will be shortened from four to three days – a decision that, according to the organizer and local press (MAZ), should allow for a focus on the strongest program elements.
Each festival day has its own profile. Thursday starts with culture, dance, artists, and an atmospheric opening. Friday is dedicated to rock music – loud stages, regional bands, young audience. Saturday attracts the largest audience: during the day, association presentations, family programs, and children's activities, and in the evening, a grand fireworks display around 10 p.m. Sunday concludes with a shopping day in the city center, combined with Sunday opening hours for Falkensee's shops.
The town festival is not the only major event in Falkensee's festival calendar. In May, the Falkensee Maibaum (Maypole) is celebrated, in October the Falkensee Autumn Festival at Gutspark (Kirmes), and during Advent, the Christmas Market. Falkensee is reachable in under 30 minutes from Berlin Hauptbahnhof via the regional train RE6 – many Berliners visit the town festival as a day trip and discover the Havelland region. Admission to the festival is free.
From September 3rd to 6th, 2026, the Interessengemeinschaft Falkensee will animate the Campusplatz with the traditional town festival. The 2026 edition has been reduced from four to three days, according to MAZ pre-reports.
Thursday (Sept 3rd) opens with culture, dance, and stage artists. Friday (Sept 4th) is dominated by rock music with regional bands. Saturday (Sept 5th) is aimed at associations and families – during the day, children's activities and association presentations; in the evening, the grand fireworks display around 10 p.m. Sunday (Sept 6th) concludes the weekend with Sunday opening hours in Falkensee's city center.
