Six weeks of winter magic in Germany's largest theme park
Europa-Park Rust is Germany's largest theme park and, with over 6 million visitors annually, one of Europe's most successful amusement parks. It is located in Rust in the Ortenau district (state of Baden-Württemberg), on the border between Germany and France, just a few kilometers from the Rhine and Alsace. The park is owned by the Mack family, a South German showman dynasty that has been active in the industry since the 18th century.
Unlike many other theme parks, Europa-Park does not close for the winter. Instead, it transforms into a spectacular winter landscape from late November to mid-January:
Up to 23 hours of programming daily (closed Dec 24/25):
Europa-Park boasts one of the largest gastronomy collections of any theme park worldwide: over 50 restaurants, bistros, and snack bars offering cuisine from the 18 European themed areas. In winter, there are special seasonal menus – from mulled wine and Christmas cookies to hearty winter dishes and fondue.
Europa-Park has six themed hotels (Colosseo, Bell Rock, Castillo Alcázar, El Andaluz, Krønasår, Santa Isabel) and a camping resort. Hotel guests have access to the following benefits:
Day tickets start at €56.50. Overnight packages with Best Price Guarantee and early park entry. Weekend tickets sell out particularly quickly in winter – early booking recommended.
Rust (~4,000 inhabitants) is located in the southern Black Forest foothills on the border with Alsace. Europa-Park is by far the largest employer in the region and a tourist magnet that shapes the entire Ortenau area. Those wishing to extend their winter visit will find numerous other attractions in the region: nearby Strasbourg in Alsace, the Black Forest, Baden-Baden with its thermal baths, or Freiburg.
From November 28, 2026, to January 9, 2027, Europa-Park Rust offers its sixth Winter Magic season. With over 100 themed attractions, more than 50 restaurants, ice shows in the Ice Arena, the spectacular Eurosat Mapping Show, and a huge Christmas market in the park area, the winter experience is complete. The Bellevue Ferris wheel offers views over the winter park landscape, the Snowkids ski school invites children to ski on the practice slope, and VR experiences like YULLBE GO and Eurosat Coastiality expand the program. A Monaco exhibition presents elegance, motorsport, and Monegasque flair as the theme focus for 2026/2027. Open daily from 11 AM (closed December 24/25). Hotel guests have extended park access until January 10, 2027. Tickets from €56.50.
Hotel guests have access until January 10, 2027.
