Four weeks of transition season between Halloween and winter magic at Europa-Park Rust
Europa-Park in Rust is considered the largest and most visited theme park in Germany and one of the most important in Europe. 18 European themed areas, over 100 attractions, more than 50 restaurants, and its own resort with six themed hotels — the park is a destination in itself. The HALLOWinter season in November combines the last Halloween period with the start of the winter season: a four-week transition that makes the park appear new every day.
The special feature of HALLOWinter is its gradual transition: In early November, Halloween decorations, pumpkin installations, spooky effects, and costumed actors still dominate the park. Mid-November, the first winter elements are mixed in — fir branches, ice crystals, white snow effects, Christmas lighting. By the end of November, the park is predominantly designed for winter. This makes visiting multiple times during the season worthwhile — every day is different.
Several attractions are thematically redesigned during HALLOWinter: The Feria Swing swing ride becomes “Flight of the Vampires” (for children), the Eurosat roller coaster becomes the “CanCan Coaster” with Halloween effects, the Griezelkopjes (carousel with a ghost theme) are in full operation. For adrenaline junkies, the top coasters Wodan (wooden roller coaster) and Eurosat remain available as regular highlights. VR experiences: YULLBE GO in the Blue Fire Dome and Eurosat Coastiality.
Europa-Park offers up to 23 hours of show programming daily during the HALLOWinter season — spread across various stages and show locations. Ice skating shows, acoustic theater, acrobatics acts, and mapping projections on historical park buildings are part of the program. The program overview is updated daily and can be accessed via the Europa-Park app.
HALLOWinter opening hours: daily from 11:00 am to at least 7:00 pm (later on weekends). Day tickets from €56.50 per person (cheaper in advance sale), family and hotel packages with best price guarantee. Over 50 restaurants in the park offer catering; bringing your own food or drinks is not permitted.
Europa-Park is located in Rust, a municipality in the Ortenau district on the western edge of the Black Forest, just a few kilometers from the Rhine River and the French border. With around 6 million visitors annually, it is one of the most important tourist attractions in Baden-Württemberg.
HALLOWinter is one of the most unusual themed formats in the European theme park calendar. Instead of ending Halloween on a fixed date and clearly separating it from Christmas, Europa-Park lets both worlds blend into each other. Day by day, the decoration, lighting, and atmosphere shift — dominant spooky at the beginning of November, already pre-Christmas wintery by the end of November.
Over 100 attractions in 18 European themed areas are in continuous operation. Several attractions are thematically redesigned, others remain classic — a mix that works for families as well as adrenaline seekers.
18 European areas: Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, England, Scandinavia, Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Russia, Ireland, as well as the themed worlds Adventureland and 4D Cinema.
