Germany's biggest Halloween season at Europa-Park with 180,000 pumpkins and Ed's Halloween Parade
When the pumpkin delivery trucks arrive in the early morning hours at Europa-Park Rust at the end of September and 180,000 pumpkins are distributed throughout the park over four days, Germany's largest Halloween season begins. From September 26 to November 1, 2026, the Halloween season runs — six weeks of theme park transformation that makes Europa-Park one of Europe's most spectacular Halloween destinations.
The logistics are impressive: up to 180,000 pumpkins, several hundred thousand corn cobs, tons of hay bales, thousands of pumpkin-apple decorations are distributed in the park within four days. The delivery begins in September in the early morning hours before guests enter the park. By the start of the season, all themed areas — from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia to Russia and Greece — are decorated with Halloween and autumn themes, each with its own staging.
Several times a day, Ed's Halloween Parade winds through the park street — a spectacular Halloween show parade with witches, vampires, skeletons, dancers, acrobats, stilt walkers, and the park's mascot family led by the mouse "Euromaus" and its Halloween alter ego. Featuring elaborate costumes, live music, and large themed floats.
In addition to the parade, Halloween shows and themed experiences take place in the various themed worlds:
Plus, several walking acts, shows in the theaters, and a Halloween special at the Confertainment Center.
The big Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31, 2026, is the season's highlight. Extended opening hours, additional shows, DJ sets in several themed areas, costume contests, and special Halloween culinary delights. A day/evening that sells out annually with advance bookings.
Immediately following the Halloween season, from November 2 to November 27, 2026, the HALLOWinter season runs — a hybrid concept: spooky pumpkins meet glittering Christmas trees. A transitional season that partially prepares the theme park for the winter season. Park opening hours from 11 AM to at least 7 PM.
Europa-Park in Rust (Ortenau district, southern Baden-Württemberg) is Germany's largest theme park and one of the world's largest, with over 6 million visitors annually. 17 European themed areas, over 100 attractions, numerous roller coasters like the "Silver Star," "Wodan – Timburcoaster," and "blue fire Megacoaster."
