One of the most important European festivals of Argentine Tango – 10th edition, May 19th to 25th, 2026
For decades, Berlin has been one of the capitals of Tango Argentino in Europe. With the Embrace Berlin Tango Festival, the city has had a distinctly international format since 2016, bringing together the diversity of Berlin's milongas, tango schools, and performance venues under one roof. In 2026, the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary.
The central concept remains: no festival pass, no registration — you assemble your tango week from the program offerings. Four central venues host the festival:
The headliner dance couple for 2026 are Diego & Aldana, the reigning World Champions of the Mundial de Tango. Alongside them, Urquiza Tango, Paolo & Elena, and Maude & Hernán will perform. Appearing as instructors for the first time: Sheena, Sebastian, and Christiane Rohn.
The workshop program explicitly welcomes beginners. Beginner classes are offered, as well as specialized formats for advanced dancers — technique, musicality, improvisation, choreography. Workshops are usually offered as two- or three-day series and booked individually.
The two Grand Milongas at Ballhaus Rixdorf are the evening highlights. With DJ sets featuring classic and more modern tango orchestras, dancing continues into the night in one of Berlin's most beautiful halls. Tickets for individual milongas range from €10 to €20.
Embrace Berlin celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026. Seven festival days from May 19th to 25th will be spread across the four central Berlin tango venues — Ballhaus Rixdorf (Grand Milongas), Tangoloft Kreuzberg, La Catedral Charlottenburg, and the Roter Salon of the Volksbühne in Mitte. The complete program with all venues, times, and events will be published in spring 2026.
Ballhaus Rixdorf, Kottbusser Damm 76, 10967 Berlin (Neukölln): U7/U8 Hermannplatz. Tangoloft Kreuzberg: U1 Schlesisches Tor. La Catedral Charlottenburg: U2 Bismarckstraße. Roter Salon Volksbühne: U2 Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
No central festival registration. Workshops and milongas can be booked individually via embrace-berlin.de. Milonga tickets €10–€20. Workshops depend on the format and instructors.
Plan accommodation and travel well in advance — central Berlin hotels are heavily booked during the festival week.
