Multidisciplinary festival for lesbian, bisexual, queer, trans, and FLINTA communities
The term 'Dyke' was long a derogatory term for lesbian women – in recent decades, it has been reclaimed and positively occupied by the community. The asterisk (*) in the festival's name signifies conscious openness to all identities that find themselves in lesbian, bi, queer, trans, and FLINTA (Female, Inter, Non-binary, Trans, Agender) experiences. The focus is on self-empowerment, visibility, and community.
Behind the festival is the AllesBien-Kollektiv, a Berlin-based initiative dedicated to queer-feminist community work. The collective organizes parties, workshops, and discussion rounds throughout the year – the Dyke* Festival is its largest format. Funding comes from crowdfunding (Startnext campaign), donations, and solidarity contributions. Admission: donation-based, no one is turned away for lack of funds.
The festival is designed to be multidisciplinary: workshops on topics such as creative writing, body work, consent, sexual education, queer-feminist history; performances with spoken word, drag king shows, dance improvisations; readings by queer-feminist authors; and not least, the parties, which are deliberately curated as safer spaces for the community. The program and booking are decided anew each year – a proven mix of day (workshops, readings, performances) and night (parties).
Berlin has an unusually dense queer festival summer: Christopher Street Day (CSD) in July, Dyke* March, several queer-feminist community festivals, Pride Village. The Dyke* Festival fits into this landscape, but has a clear focus: less mainstream CSD glamour, more community depth, less pinkwashing, more political discussion. Anyone who wants to experience queer-feminist Berlin in a non-commercial way will find it here.
The crowdfunding campaign is running on Startnext (Spring/Summer 2026). The venue for 2026 will be announced shortly before the festival – in 2025, it was Festsaal Kreuzberg.
The festival is funded by the crowdfunding campaign at startnext.com/dyke-festival-berlin-2026. Early bird tickets as a thank you for crowdfunders.
Current information: allesbien.com and flintaworld.de.
The venue for 2026 has not yet been publicly confirmed. In 2025, the festival took place at Festsaal Kreuzberg (Am Flutgraben 2). Current information is available on the collective's website and Instagram.
Donation-based. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Those who can afford it pay more and support the crowdfunding campaign on Startnext (early bird tickets as a thank you for crowdfunders).
The festival is explicitly for lesbian, bi, queer, trans, and FLINTA individuals. Cis men are generally not the primary audience (specific house policies will be communicated before the festival starts).
