European B2B Festival and Expo for the Sex-Tech Industry — three days at the Heeresbäckerei in Berlin-Kreuzberg, featuring the SXMA Awards
The Heeresbäckerei on Köpenicker Straße in Berlin-Kreuzberg is a historic industrial complex: built from 1805–1808 as a royal Prussian supply facility, later the supply bakery for the German army, and since the 1990s a venue for events and culture. The large Magazin-Halle, with its brick industrial architecture, is an impressive event space and regularly hosts major Berlin festivals, trade fairs, and club concerts. SX uses it for three days as a dual format of Expo and Festival.
The program is clearly divided: The SX Expo runs during the day and is primarily aimed at B2B players in the Sex-Tech industry — platform operators, hardware manufacturers, studios, app developers, investors. Focus areas: Smart apps, VR applications, new platform features, industry talks, networking. The SX Festival runs in the evenings and on weekends with a consumer-oriented program: live performances, burlesque shows, erotic art installations, immersive experiences, parties. Accompanying workshops on Consent, Body Positivity, and Inclusion — an explicit ethical framework that distinguishes the festival from purely commercial industry formats.
The highlight of the industry side is the SXMA Awards Gala on Friday, June 26th, 2026. A red carpet, glamour, industry appearances, awards in categories such as Best Performer, Best Platform, Innovation of the Year. Since their premiere, the SXMA Awards have established themselves as a central European format for the industry and are the counterpart to the US-based AVN and XBIZ Awards, with an explicitly European, more tech-oriented profile.
The district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, with its industrial buildings on the Spree riverbank, its alternative club scene, and its diverse queer community, is the natural location for a festival of this profile. With the Heeresbäckerei, SX utilizes one of the city's most renowned venues. Berlin is one of the main hubs for the Sex-Tech and platform economy industry in Europe, with established structures and a progressive regulatory environment.
The 2026 edition at the Heeresbäckerei combines three days of industry programming with consumer-oriented festival slots. During the day, the Expo features industry talks, product presentations, and networking; in the evenings, there are performances, parties, and concerts. The SXMA Awards Gala on Friday opens the festival with a red carpet show and industry awards.
