Dorffest Unterroth (FFW)

Festival with a Long Tradition

Unterroth is a small Swabian municipality in the district of Neu-Ulm, at the transition to the Rothtal valley — a rural region between Memmingen and Ulm. The annual village festival of the Unterroth Volunteer Fire Brigade e.V. is the central summer event for club and village life here. The event attracts visitors from Unterroth, Babenhausen, Oberroth, Krumbach, and the wider region between the Iller and Roth rivers.

Festival Grounds in the Town Center

The venue is the Unterroth festival grounds in the town center. The marquee, benches, and stage are set up by the fire brigade comrades in the days before the festival. Catering is handled entirely by the fire brigade and their families.

Rothtalmusikanten as the Musical Core

The musical accompaniment is traditionally provided by the Rothtalmusikanten — a regional brass band specializing in Swabian-Franconian folk music. Their performances at the Dorffest Unterroth are a firm tradition; the festival is listed with an afternoon and an evening set on the band's tour schedule.

Classic Village Festival Program

Swabian Fire Brigade Tradition

The motto of the Unterroth Volunteer Fire Brigade — "For God's honor, for neighbor's defense" — is a classic saying in the German fire service and expresses the volunteer spirit that sustains the event. The proceeds from the village festival go entirely to the club's activities: protective equipment, training, youth fire brigade, and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.

Rain Date for Bad Weather

In case of extremely bad weather, a rain date is scheduled for August 15, 2026 — a precautionary measure common for weather-dependent village festivals in the Swabian region during spring/summer.
