Double Anniversary in the Wandlitz District

When a club turns 80, it's a special occasion — and in the Wandlitz district of Klosterfelde, this occasion will be celebrated with a grand village and club festival. In 2026, the festival coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Klosterfelde Bowling Club. Two days of festivities on the summer weekend of June 20 and 21, organized by the local clubs of the Wandlitz municipality in the Barnim district.

80 Years of Klosterfelde Bowling Club

The Klosterfelde Bowling Club was founded in 1946 — after World War II, when the village community was reorganizing. Bowling was one of the few sports that could be practiced with minimal effort at the time. Over eight decades, the club has maintained its lanes — and survived the GDR and reunification. Today, the club is a pillar of village life, alongside the sports club, fire department, and local history society.

What to Expect at the Festival

The program runs on Saturday from 11:00 AM until late into the night (2:00 AM):

• Opening ceremony with club speeches and honoring of the oldest club members
• Bowling demonstrations and tournament
• Club stalls from all Klosterfelde clubs (sports, fire department, local history, kindergarten)
• Stage program with regional music groups
• Festival tent with catering — Bratwurst, draft beer, coffee and cake
• Children's program with games and bouncy castle
• Live band on Saturday evening
• Disco dancing until 2:00 AM
• Sunday: Morning pint (Frühschoppen), club bowling championship

Klosterfelde and Wandlitz

Klosterfelde is a district of the municipality of Wandlitz in the Barnim district. Wandlitz is famous for its chain of lakes (Wandlitzer See, Liepnitzsee, Stolzenhagensee), but also for the former Politburo settlement of the GDR leadership in Bernau-Wandlitz. Klosterfelde is located further north, closer to the Schorfheide — the vast nature park that stretches to the north.
