Cycling Race Marktallee Hiltrup — edition 2026

The 34th edition on June 13, 2026, upgrades the Hiltrup race with the NRW Criterium Championship for Elite Amateurs and Women. Races for all age groups from U11 to Elite, Kids Cup for the youngest, plus a family program along the Marktallee.

The race day starts in the afternoon with the youth classes and culminates in the evening with the elite criterium. On the 800-meter circuit through Hiltrup's center, participants will compete for sprint points, final sprints, and the NRW championship title for the amateur elite.

Getting There

By train: S-Bahn to Münster-Hiltrup, then walk to Marktallee (5 min.). By car: A1 exit Münster-Süd, then follow signs for Hiltrup. Parking along the route is limited due to road closures.

Tip

Best viewing at the start/finish area on Marktallee. The elite races in the late afternoon/early evening offer top-level speed. Refreshments provided by the fire department directly at the venue.

34 Years of Criterium Racing in Hiltrup

The Cycling Race Around the Marktallee is a fixture on the cycling calendar in the Münsterland region. The 34th edition on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 2:45 PM will once again bring hundreds of cyclists of all ages to the Hiltrup district of Münster. The organizer is the traditional RSV Münster v. 1895 e.V.

The 800-Meter Circuit

The race takes place on an 800-meter circuit in the heart of Hiltrup's center:

Start and finish on the Marktallee
Turn into Unckelstraße
Continue through Kardinalstraße
Via Moränenstraße back to Marktallee

The tight urban circuit makes the race a true criterium: sprint races, intermediate sprints, point classifications — the winner is determined not by time trials, but by accumulated points.

NRW Criterium Championship

In 2026, the Hiltrup race will also host the NRW Criterium Championship for Elite Amateurs and Women — an upgrade that significantly increases the event's sporting importance and brings top riders from all over North Rhine-Westphalia to Münster.
