Christmas in Westend
Artisan Christmas Market with Jazz Nikoläuse and Bird of Prey Demonstrations
2026
About Christmas in Westend
Christmas in Westend — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the established concept: a curated artisan market on the 4th Advent weekend, programmatically distinct from the large commercial Berlin Christmas markets. In its 13 editions since 2014, Family & Friends e.V. has developed a core identity based on quality, district identity, and an unusual program mix.
Over 100 exhibitors are expected for the 4th Advent weekend in 2026, with the proven mix of Berlin manufacturers, regional artisans, and selected national guests. The bird of prey demonstrations and the Jazz Nikoläus troupe are again firmly scheduled.

Westend Shows Its Charming Side
Westend is one of Berlin's affluent, quiet districts — formerly a bourgeois residential area with villas, wide avenues, and old trees, today in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough on the western edge of the city center. When Preußenallee shines in its Advent lights on the 4th Advent weekend and the stalls are set up, the district shows its charming side: an artisan-curated Christmas market whose concept clearly contrasts with the commercialized large markets at Gendarmenmarkt or Alexanderplatz.
13th Edition on December 19th/20th, 2026
The 2026 edition takes place on the weekend of December 19th and 20th, from 12 PM to 8 PM each day. Over 100 exhibitors present their work: crafts, fashion, jewelry, design, ceramics, toys, culinary specialties. The selection is curated — no industrial mulled wine stands, but handmade products, often from Berlin manufacturers and small artisans from the region.
Jazz Nikoläuse and Birds of Prey
Two highlights set this market apart from other Berlin Christmas markets:
- The Jazz Nikoläuse — an unusual troupe around the 'singing Christmas Noble Elephant Jochen' — roam the market, playing classics on muted trumpets and creating the jazzy Advent atmosphere that makes the format a trademark.
- The bird of prey demonstrations with free-flying falcons, owls, and eagles bring an unusual nature experience directly to the urban Advent market — a programmatic peculiarity that Family & Friends e.V. has cultivated for years.
Family & Friends e.V. — Westend Tradition
The organizer is the association Family & Friends e.V., dedicated to urban culture in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough and operating several cultural formats in Westend — regular craft markets, themed events, and the Advent festival. The concept: district culture away from mass tourism logic, with a clearly curated program and the aim of highlighting Westend as one of Berlin's most charming districts. The association pursues this line with the KUNST trifft WEIN festival in Lichtenrade as well.
