About Reichsstraßenfest
Reichsstraßenfest — edition 2026
As every year, the Reichsstraßenfest 2026 is planned for the Pentecost weekend (24/25 May 2026). Along Reichsstraße in the Westend district, small rides, carousels, a beer garden and stalls with bratwurst, steaks, fries, crêpes, roasted almonds and cotton candy line the street. Live music and walking acts move through the festival site.
On the parallel Preußenallee, the wine and winegrowers' festival runs at the same time: small family wineries from German growing regions present their wines, alongside crafts and art from the neighbourhood. Admission to both festivals is free. Open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Westend – a villa district with a dense festival culture
The Westend district belongs to the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough and lies in the west of Berlin, between Olympiastadion, Murellenberg and Teufelsberg. Reichsstraße is one of its central shopping axes, surrounded by residential streets lined with villas and Gründerzeit (founders' era) houses. Once a year, it becomes the stage for the Reichsstraßenfest for several days – a Stadtteilfest with a family character that brings together showmen, residents, associations, shops, the district administration and craftspeople.
A classic Berlin street festival
The festival follows the format of the classic Berlin street festival: small rides for children and teenagers, carousels, stalls with bratwurst, steaks, fries, crêpes, roasted almonds and cotton candy, plus beer, soft drinks and cocktails. A beer garden and several food stalls define the picture. On the parallel Preußenallee – a quieter street on the same axis – the Wein- und Winzerfest takes place: small family wineries from German growing regions present their wines, alongside crafts and art.
Programme and opening hours
The Reichsstraßenfest typically runs from Friday to Sunday. Open on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Live music and walking acts move through the festival site – small bands, organ grinders and street musicians mingle with the visitors. Free admission, everything is paid for on site.
Pentecost in Berlin
The tradition of placing the Reichsstraßenfest around the Pentecost weekend anchors it firmly in the Berlin early-summer calendar – as one of the city's westernmost street festivals, in contrast to the Karneval der Kulturen in Kreuzberg or the city festival at the Brandenburg Gate. Anyone wanting to experience Berlin off the tourist trail will find here an authentic family festival with genuine neighbourhood roots.
Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough
The Reichsstraßenfest is one of the key annual neighbourhood events in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough of the federal state of Berlin. It primarily draws residents from Westend, Halensee, Grunewald and the wider Charlottenburg area, complemented by families from all over Berlin's west.
