Exclusive Motorsport Day in a Renaissance Castle above the Jagst Valley
Castle & Cars is the event series of the German Automobile Museum Langenburg, which has been located on the grounds of the princely Hohenlohe-Langenburg estate for decades. On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the annual motorsport day will take place – the highlight of the series. The castle courtyard and the paths around the Renaissance castle will become a 'paddock of castle level'.
The castle grounds will feature pre-war historic racing cars (Bugatti, Mercedes-SSK, Bentley) as well as works and private racing cars from the 1950s to 1980s (Porsche 911 RSR, Ferrari 250 GT, Lotus Cortina, BMW M1 Procar). More modern categories include current GT sports cars, Le Mans hypercars, and electric pioneers. The vehicles are not statically exhibited – some will be driven on the paths, celebrating torque and sound.
A moderated podium will bring together former and current racing drivers, designers, and motorsport insiders for discussions about their careers, legendary races, and the evolution of the sport. Past editions have hosted greats like Hans-Joachim Stuck, Jochen Mass, and Karl Wendlinger – the list for 2026 will be announced soon.
Throughout the day, the Castle & Cars Beer Garden will operate in the castle's remise. Here, motorsport enthusiasts can enjoy refreshments, exchange ideas, and follow the events. The combination of castle ambiance, automotive expertise, and Hohenlohe gastronomy makes the format unique.
Founded in 1970, the museum is one of the oldest private automobile museums in Germany. It showcases a continuously expanded collection of historic racing cars, sports cars, and hypercars in a former stable building of the castle. The director and driving force is Prince Philipp Hohenlohe-Langenburg, himself an active motorsport enthusiast.
The Castle & Cars Motorsport Day 2026 runs on Sunday, May 31, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The castle courtyard and the paths around the Renaissance estate will become an exclusive paddock for one day.
The combination of historic castle architecture and fascinating vehicles – from pre-war classics to modern hypercars – makes Castle & Cars a highlight of the automotive event calendar in Southern Germany.
