One of Southern Germany's most beautiful garden fairs above the Jagst valley
The Princely Garden Days Langenburg Castle are among the most renowned garden fairs in Southern Germany. The venue is Langenburg Castle — a 16th-century Renaissance complex, perched high above the Jagst valley in Hohenlohe. The Hohenlohe-Langenburg family still lives in the castle today and hosts the garden days annually on the first weekend of September.
Around 170 carefully selected exhibitors present their products and concepts on the castle grounds. Exhibitors include established nurseries and garden centers, design studios for garden furniture and outdoor architecture, artisans for sculptures and decoration, suppliers of plants from around the world, specialists for water gardens, roses, perennials, and shrubs, as well as booksellers with garden literature. The selection of exhibitors is based on high quality — mass and large industrial suppliers are explicitly not part of the program.
During the garden days, several concert formats take place in the baroque and Renaissance ambiance — chamber music in the historic rooms, open-air concerts between the exhibition stands, receptions in the princely halls. Guided tours through the castle garden explain the historical plant world and garden architecture.
The Hohenlohe region is one of Southern Germany's most important culinary regions — known for its "Linsen mit Spätzle und Saiten" (lentils with dumplings and sausages), "Schwäbisch-Hällisches Landschwein" (Swabian-Hall Landrace pork), and numerous wineries in the Kocher and Jagst valleys. Several Hohenlohe restaurateurs, vintners, and direct marketers serve guests in the castle's beer garden, wine lounge, and café terraces during the garden days.
A special bonus: Admission to the German Automobile Museum Langenburg, located on the castle grounds, is free during the garden days. The museum displays a significant collection of historic and modern sports cars and hypercars and is part of the Castle & Cars event series by the Hohenlohe-Langenburg family.
The 2026 edition runs for three days from Friday, September 4th, to Sunday, September 6th, daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Exhibitors, concerts, Hohenlohe gastronomy, and the German Automobile Museum complement each other on the castle grounds.
The mix of high-quality plant and design stands, the unique Renaissance setting, and the regional culinary landscape of Hohenlohe make the garden days a supra-regional magnet — visitors come from all over Southern Germany.
