The student festival of the University and OTH Regensburg — four stages, free admission
The Campusfest is considered Regensburg's largest student festival and is one of the most important events of the academic summer. With around 3,000 visitors, it brings together students from the University of Regensburg (around 22,000 students) and the OTH Regensburg (around 11,000 students) in one day — a mix of indoor and outdoor programming on the shared university campus.
The program is spread across four stages, each focusing on different musical genres — usually a rock/indie stage, an electronic stage, a hip-hop stage, and a singer-songwriter stage. This allows the festival to reach a broad student audience without being limited to a single genre.
The event is organized by the non-profit association Campus Regensburg e.V., founded and run by students from the University of Regensburg and the OTH Regensburg. The festival is organized entirely on a voluntary basis; revenue from food, drinks, and sponsorships covers the costs. In 2026, the association launched a donation campaign to establish a more stable financial foundation for the festival in the coming years.
The University of Regensburg and the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Regensburg share a campus on the eastern outskirts of Regensburg. Both universities have been closely integrated spatially since the 1970s and share a cafeteria, library, and sports facilities. The Campusfest uses this shared space as its festival stage.
Regensburg, an independent city in the district of Regensburg and the administrative seat of the Upper Palatinate, is one of Bavaria's major medium-sized cities with over 160,000 inhabitants. Its historic old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2006; in addition, Regensburg is characterized by a vibrant student scene with over 30,000 students. The Campusfest is part of this student identity.
The Campusfest 2026 has been officially confirmed by the organizer Campus Regensburg e.V.: Wednesday, June 10, on the campus of the University and OTH Regensburg, Seybothstraße 2.
In 2026, the association launched an adjusted financing model with a donation campaign to secure the festival in the medium term. However, the program remains unchanged: four stages focusing on student-relevant music genres, a free event, and voluntary organization.
