Sankt Peter-Ording (SPO) is a North Sea resort on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein in the district of Nordfriesland. With its 12 km long, very flat sandy beach in front of the Wadden Sea National Park, the town has developed into one of Germany's most important watersports locations — especially for windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling, and stand-up paddleboarding. The typical stilt houses on the beach are the landmark of the town, which has just over 4,000 inhabitants and swells to ten times that number in summer.

The California Windsurf Cup is a German windsurfing event series (German Windsurf Cup, DWC) with several tour stops per year.
