Volkslauf at the Regatta Course

The Beetzsee Regatta Course on the outskirts of Brandenburg an der Havel is one of Germany's most famous water sports facilities — rowing and canoe competitions of the highest level take place here. Once a year, the natural scenery is brought to life by the Brandenburger Beetzseelauf — a classic Volkslauf with a long tradition.

October 3, 2026 — the 42nd Edition

The run takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, German Unity Day. With its 42nd edition, the Beetzseelauf is one of Brandenburg's most traditional Volksläufe — it has been held since the early 1980s.

Distances

  • Half Marathon around the Beetzsee — the premier distance, particularly scenic
  • 10 km — the classic distance for hobby athletes
  • 5 km — entry-level distance
  • 3 km School Run — for children and teenagers
  • Toddler Run — for the little ones

Course — Pure Nature

The course leads along the Beetzsee Natural Regatta Course through reed beds, past bridges and jetties. In October, the foliage is colorful, the air is cool, and the atmosphere is particularly calm — perfect conditions for personal bests.

Organizer

VfL Brandon e.V. is the city's largest sports association and also organizes the traditional Schollemarathon in addition to the Beetzseelauf. The Beetzseelauf is its most important open-air event.
