Bockfest on the Bockberg
The Traditional Bockfest Harburg takes place every year in June on the Bockberg hill above the town of Harburg (Swabia). Harburg is located in the Donau-Ries district in Bavarian Swabia and is famous for its medieval Harburg Castle, one of the largest and best-preserved castle complexes in Southern Germany.

The Bockfest is a classic family festival: brass band music from local bands, catering with Swabian specialties such as Maultaschen, Schupfnudeln, and Bockbier (a strong lager), a children's program, and a cozy atmosphere under the open sky. Admission is free.

The organizer is the City of Harburg. The festival has been an integral part of the Harburg event calendar for decades and brings together the population from the town and surrounding areas, as well as day-trippers from the Donau-Ries and Nördlinger Ries regions.
Bockberg as a Special Backdrop
The Bockberg is located on Bockstraße, above the Wörnitz river, with a view of Harburg Castle. In clear weather, the view extends far into the Swabian hill country and the Wörnitztal valley. This location makes the Bockfest one of the most atmospheric open-air events in the region.

Getting There
Harburg is located between Donauwörth and Nördlingen on the B25 (Romantic Road). By car via the A7 (Donauwörth exit). Harburg (Swabia) train station on the Aalen–Donauwörth line. From the station to the Bockberg by foot or car.
