Town festival in the Saarland Flower Garden between the Mining Museum and the Hindenburg Tower
The Bexbach Flower Garden, at 25 hectares, is one of the largest and oldest city gardens in the Saarland. It is located between the Hindenburg Tower – the town's landmark – and the Saarland Mining Museum, the only museum of its kind in the Saarland. With its flowerbeds, a tropical house, the penguin and monkey house, and the fairy tale forest, the garden is a popular excursion destination. Once a year, it transforms into a festival ground.
The Blumengartenfest traditionally starts on Friday evening with the Moonlight Market: arts and crafts, street food, and live music under the evening lights make the opening an unforgettable experience. Mayor Christian Prech opens the festival with the traditional tapping of the keg, accompanied by performances from regional bands.
Saturday is dedicated to Saarland club life: fire brigade demonstrations, performances by dance groups, presentations by local clubs, children's activities, and workshops form a packed program. The "Flotte Lotte", a historic miniature train, runs through the park on Saturday, transporting guests between attractions.
The musical program ranges from Saarland dialect bands (in previous years, including "Die Konsorten", "Hacke Limbach") and dance performances (ZUMBA crews) to a DJ set with a laser show late on Saturday evening (in previous years with DJ MarBlo). Bex4Kids e. V. organizes bouncy castles, face painting, and craft stalls – the festival is decidedly family-friendly.
Bexbach belongs to the Saarpfalz district and is located in the east of the Saarland, directly on the border with the Palatinate. The former mining town combines its industrial history (via the Saarland Mining Museum) with green recreation (in the Flower Garden) – the Blumengartenfest brings both identities together.
Organized by the town of Bexbach. The exact stage program for 2026 will likely be published in spring. The structure follows the proven concept of previous years.

The mining museum, integrated into the Hindenburg Tower with an underground tunnel system, is usually open during the festival – a visit is worthwhile.
