Autumn market on Bramfeld's market square with regional stalls and crafts
With over 50,000 inhabitants, Bramfeld is one of Hamburg's large districts. Located in the Wandsbek borough, Bramfeld market square is the centre of the northern district. For three days in October, the autumn market is traditionally celebrated here – a format that shapes the district's mid-year calendar between the weekly market, the spring market in May, and the autumn market in October.
The focus is on regional stalls: cheese, sausage, bread, sweets, honey, regional fruit. In addition, there are craftspeople offering jewellery, ceramics, textiles, and woodwork. Culinary stalls offer autumnal specialities – Federweißer (new wine) with onion cake, roasted chestnuts, potato pancakes, mulled wine, and apple punch. The autumnal atmosphere with pumpkin decorations and hay bales creates the right setting for a family stroll.
The market square on Herthastraße is the centre of the Hamburg district of Bramfeld. The weekly market, the spring market in May, and various district festivals also take place here. Bramfeld is easily accessible via the U1 underground line (Farmsen station, then bus 27) and several bus lines directly at the market square. Admission to the market is free.
