Autumn run around Bramfelder See
The Bramfelder Half Marathon is one of Hamburg's traditional public runs. The organiser is BMS Die Laufgesellschaft, a Hamburg-based event agency that organises around 25 running events annually in the Hanseatic city. Start and finish are at Gropiusring behind the Bramfelder Sporthalle in the Bramfeld district (Wandsbek borough), directly on Bramfelder See.
The course leads around Bramfelder See. Three distances are available on this loop: 5 km (1 lap), 10 km (2 laps), 21.1 km (4 laps plus a short extension for the official half marathon distance). Starts are staggered so that the races do not interfere with each other.
The special feature of the Bramfelder Half Marathon is its mid-October date: the deciduous trees around Bramfelder See show their full spectrum of colours at the peak of autumn. The 34th edition in 2025 was sold out with 1,000 participants – registration was closed early. Early registration is recommended for 2026.
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the 35th edition of the Bramfelder Half Marathon will take place. Start and finish: Sportanlage Gropiusring, behind Bramfelder Sporthalle. Three distances, started with staggered times so that the races do not interfere with each other.
