Streetart for Langwasser
The Betonliebe street art festival is the annual highlight of a larger art project: initiated in 2019 by Carlos Lorente (Crow), Anke Hacker, and Miriam Fuggenthaler in Nürnberg-Langwasser, it builds on the "Nürnberg ist bunt" (Nuremberg is colourful) campaign and the murals created in the district since around 2015, including a 100-metre-long wall at the Langwasser Center. The festival has taken place every year since 2021 – supported by the Langwasser Community Centre and the City of Nuremberg's Office for Culture and Leisure.
Live Painting and Free Walls
The focus is on live painting: the Main Wall is a commissioned work that renowned graffiti artists create live during the festival day – visitors can watch and talk to the artists. The Profi-Freewall is the heart of the festival; regional artists spray live here. At the open Free Wall, anyone can get active themselves; experienced artists offer tips in the afternoon.
Music, Family, and Community Culture
A live music line-up accompanies the festival, along with numerous hands-on activities, a family programme in the afternoon, and a diverse culinary offering from bratwurst to vegan dishes to local beer and coffee. Betonliebe sees itself as a low-threshold community festival that makes urban art accessible and adds colour to Langwasser. Admission is free.
