Indie, Punk, Pop and Hip-Hop between the historic transmission towers of the Funkerberg
The Bergfunk Open Air is one of Brandenburg's most atmospherically unique festivals: the venue is the Funkerberg in Königs Wusterhausen, the hill southeast of Berlin from which Germany's first radio broadcast was transmitted on December 22, 1920. Today, the old transmission buildings are listed monuments; the organizer Stubenrausch — Kultur, Musik, Leben e.V. sets up the stage, bar, and children's festival among the historic antennas and radio houses. The next edition will take place on August 7th and 8th, 2026.
The program spans two days and multiple genres. Friday, August 7th, opens with singer-songwriter and indie acts: headliner Drangsal, plus Endless Wellness, Gwen Dolyn, Grenzkontrolle, Agatha is Dead!, and Liska. Saturday, August 8th, turns up the volume — headliner Kafvka (Berlin punk-rap), supported by Marlo Grosshardt, 24/7 Diva Heaven, Vandalisbin, yara, and Lucerna. A careful mix of established indie names and the vibrant Berlin-Brandenburg independent scene.
Unlike purely adult festivals, Stubenrausch e.V. places great importance on its family character: the children's area "Zwergfunk" offers craft activities, interactive workshops, movement games, and its own program for the youngest generation. Children under 12 have free admission; many parents bring their kids along — Bergfunk sees itself as a festival where punk and parenting are not opposites.
Königs Wusterhausen, with around 38,000 inhabitants, is the district town of Dahme-Spreewald in the state of Brandenburg, about 30 km southeast of Berlin. The Funkerberg above the Dahme town has been a transmission center since 1916 — today, it houses the Sender- und Funktechnikmuseum (Transmitter and Radio Technology Museum) and numerous cultural initiatives. The Bergfunk Open Air makes this industrial monument accessible to the general public once a year.
Behind the festival is the non-profit association Stubenrausch — Kultur, Musik, Leben e.V., which organizes concerts, workshops, and cultural encounters in the region throughout the year. The Bergfunk Open Air is its flagship event — a mixture of urban subcultural ambition and Brandenburg down-to-earthness.
The festival weekend begins on Friday with a focus on singer-songwriters and indie, centered around headliner Drangsal. Saturday gets louder, harder, more energetic — Kafvka, 24/7 Diva Heaven, and the Berlin independent scene deliver punk and rap energy between the historic transmission towers. Accompanying food, bar, Zwergfunk children's festival, and workshops.
During the day, the "Zwergfunk" children's area with workshops and craft activities. Catering with regional and vegetarian options, bar with Brandenburg beers. Set times will be published in July on bergfunk-openair.de.
