Classical concert series in the Königs Wusterhausen castle ensemble in autumn 2026
Königs Wusterhausen is located 30 km southeast of Berlin in the Dahme-Spreewald district. In the town center stands Schloss Königs Wusterhausen — a building once used as a hunting residence by Frederick William I, the “Soldier King.” Today, the palace is a museum and cultural center with an attached Kavalierhaus (equerry’s building) and the neighboring Kreuzkirche (Holy Cross Church), which together form the castle ensemble.
It is precisely this ensemble that the concert series Schlosskonzerte Königs Wusterhausen uses to curate a rich classical program in four different venues between September and October.
Gerlint Böttcher & Kammersymphonie Berlin. Opening concert with classical symphonic music in the historic church acoustics.
“Hurra, wir spielen ein Konzert” (Hooray, we’re playing a concert) — Participatory concert with children’s involvement. A family format where children are actively integrated into the concert.
The Twiolins. Violin duo by brothers Christoph and Marc-Andreas Schreiber — a popular format bridging classical and crossover.
Trio Risonante. Chamber music ensemble in the intimate hall of the Kavalierhaus.
lautten compagney Berlin & Asya Fateyeva. Season finale with the early music ensemble lautten compagney and saxophonist Asya Fateyeva — an unusual combination of Baroque and saxophone, promising unique sonic experiences.
The series utilizes four different spaces within the castle ensemble and nearby locations:
