About Höfenacht
Höfenacht — edition 2026
13th Edition in the City Center
With the 13th Höfenacht 2026, Königs Wusterhausen continues the tradition established in 2014. The city organizes the festival together with businesses, clubs, and courtyard owners — the program in each courtyard remains decentralized, so no two courtyards sound the same.
The opening ceremony will take place at 6 PM in a central courtyard, from where visitors will spread out throughout the city center. Bands will play in rotation between 6:30 PM and 11:30 PM — those who want to visit all courtyards should best grab a printed program map to plan their route.

One City, Thirty Courtyards, One Summer Night
The Höfenacht in Königs Wusterhausen is one of Brandenburg's most original city festivals — and has long been known far beyond the Dahme-Spreewald district. The idea: Instead of concentrating the stages in a single market square, the owners of around 20 inner courtyards in the city center open their gates for one night. Each courtyard gets its own band, its own character, its own atmosphere — and visitors walk from courtyard to courtyard, letting themselves drift, discovering live music, regional cuisine, and the hidden corners of a small town that no one else sees.
Live Music of All Genres
The musical spectrum ranges from folk and acoustic to jazz and soul, rock, and indie. In one courtyard, a singer-songwriter might play with a guitar, in the next, a five-piece soul band, in the third, a string quartet playing in a garden café. This diversity is what makes it so appealing: In one evening, you hear music in five, six, or more different styles — a spontaneous concert tour on foot through the city center.
Culinary Delights and Atmosphere
Each courtyard offers culinary specialties — from bratwurst and fries to regional sausage and cheese platters, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The stands are usually run by the courtyard owners themselves or by local clubs, which creates a familiar and warm atmosphere. Especially nice: Many courtyards are decorated with fairy lights, some have lounge furniture or hay bales set up — a summer atmosphere that far surpasses the usual city festival.
Königs Wusterhausen and the City Center
Königs Wusterhausen, with around 38,000 inhabitants, is the largest town in the Dahme-Spreewald district, located directly south of Berlin at the end of the S-Bahn line S 46. The city center around the train station and Königs Wusterhausen Castle is manageable — perfect for a festival where you can reach all venues on foot. The castle itself, once the favorite residence of the "Soldier King" Frederick William I, provides a historic backdrop for the evening.
One of the City's Most Popular Festivals
The Höfenacht is one of Königs Wusterhausen's most popular events and has been jointly supported by citizens, businesses, and clubs since its premiere in 2014. Many residents plan the date weeks in advance, and some travel from Berlin or even further afield. For visitors: bring sturdy shoes, a little cash (some stands don't accept cards), and wander through the city with open ears — your next favorite band is waiting in the next courtyard.
