Harbor Festival on the Eastern Shore of the Kiel Fjord
The Möltenorter Hafenfest is the big summer festival of the municipality of Heikendorf in the Plön district. The venue is the Möltenorter Hafen – a small, picturesque harbor on the eastern shore of the Kiel Fjord, directly opposite the state capital Kiel. For three days, the harbor transforms into a festival mile with a stage, stalls, and a fire department display.
Live Music and Show Brass Band
The musical program is a hallmark of the festival:
- Nashville City – Country and Western
- Under Pressure – Rock cover band
- Spareparts – Classics of rock and pop history
- Shantyrocker Wolf Barsch – North German shanties with a rock touch
- Heikendorfer Show-Brassband – the local flagship
- De Brummelbuttjes – Low German folk music
- DJs Dominic Baumgart and Harry Kohrt
Fire Department and Family Program
The harbor festival is organized by the Neuheikendorf Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department is therefore part of the program: vehicle exhibition, demonstrations, and "Open Ship" are integral components. For families, there is children's entertainment, bouncy castles, and on Sunday morning, an ecumenical harbor service with a gospel choir, which kicks off the Sunday with verve. Afterwards, the Heikendorf Show Brass Band traditionally performs.
Region: Plön District, on Probstei Beach
Heikendorf is located on the eastern shore of the Kiel Fjord in the Plön district. The municipality belongs to the Amt Schrevenborn and is known as a small Baltic Sea resort with a marina, a mayor's beach, and a maritime atmosphere. The Möltenorter Hafen is part of the Probstei scenery and offers a picturesque setting for a classic North German harbor festival. The opening by Mayor Tade Peetz is a tradition.
