A Tavern Night Through Rosenheim
The Bergader Wirtshaus Roas is a pub festival where the entire city center of the Upper Bavarian town of Rosenheim becomes a festival ground for an evening – a sight usually only seen at Oktoberfest. Guests in traditional costume move from pub to pub, with live music and celebrations everywhere. The main sponsor and namesake is the Bergader dairy.
Over 25 Taverns, Over 25 Bands
In more than 25 taverns and pubs – including Auerbräu Festhalle, Ballhaus Rosenheim, Café Innig, Flötzinger Bräustüberl, and Künstlerhof – over 25 bands, music groups, and artists perform. The spectrum ranges from Styrian accordion folk music (e.g., Bavorská) and Bavarian-Bohemian brass music (Beirer Blech) to rock, pop, and indie cover bands, and dialect acts like Lenze & De Buam or the DJ duo Habe & Dere.
The Wirtshaus-Roas-Express
To ensure the audience can move between venues safely and comfortably, the Wirtshaus-Roas-Express operates throughout the evening: a shuttle bus that also features musicians to create a lively atmosphere. A single admission ticket grants access to all participating venues – you can visit as many stops as you like.
Living Bavarian Tavern Culture
The Wirtshaus Roas celebrates Bavarian tavern culture as a living tradition: traditional costume, brass music, conviviality, and the diversity of Rosenheim's gastronomy in one evening. The format also exists in other towns in southeastern Bavaria; the Rosenheim edition is one of the largest and a fixed date in the spring calendar for the Rosenheim district and the city.
