Advent Atmosphere on Postplatz

The Hennigsdorf Christmas Market takes place every year on the second Advent weekend on Postplatz in the city center. In 2026, it runs from December 4th to 6th. Unlike the large Christmas markets in Berlin or Potsdam, Hennigsdorf consciously focuses on arts and crafts: exhibitors are selected based on artistic quality, originality, product diversity, and willingness to demonstrate their craft.

Program

Over the three days, there is a stage program featuring choirs, music groups, and theater performances by Hennigsdorf associations. For children, the Elf Workshop offers crafting activities and small stories. The market stalls offer what the region has to offer: ceramics, wood carvings, glasswork, felt products, jewelry.

Culinary Delights

Food stalls serve mulled wine, bratwurst, potato pancakes, candied almonds, and cookies. Here too, the focus is on regional producers – pro agro and Brandenburg farm catering are represented.

Hennigsdorf in the North

Hennigsdorf is located directly north of Berlin-Reinickendorf, in the Oberhavel district. The city is connected to Berlin via the S-Bahn – the Christmas market is therefore also a popular day trip destination for Berlin families. The market is manageable, personal, and without the mass tourism of the big Christmas markets – a deliberate contrast.

Exhibitor Application

Those who wish to participate as exhibitors in 2026 can apply to the Hennigsdorf city administration by June 1st, 2026. The culture department makes the selection with a focus on handmade, original goods.
