Christmas Evening with Brass Band

The Adventszeit with the Wetzdorf Brass Band is an intimate, traditional Advent event in the small district of Wetzdorf, part of Schkölen. On Tuesday, December 15, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, the Friends of the Wetzdorf Domain Association (Förderverein Domäne Wetzdorf e. V.), together with the Wetzdorf Brass Band, invites you to a Christmas evening at the Wetzdorf Domain in the village center.

Mulled Wine and Brass Music

The event is intentionally small and cozy: «Let's spend a cozy winter evening together with a hot cup of mulled wine and the sounds of the brass band,» reads the invitation. The Wetzdorf Brass Band — which rehearses every Tuesday at 7 PM — will present Christmas chorales, Advent songs, and festive brass arrangements outdoors.

Wetzdorf Domain as a Cultural Center

The Wetzdorf Domain is a former agricultural estate, the preservation and cultural revitalization of which is managed by the Friends of the Wetzdorf Domain Association (Förderverein Domäne Wetzdorf e. V.). Dedicated citizens founded the association to maintain the Domain as a center for the village's cultural and social life. The Adventszeit is one of the key events through which the Domain highlights its role in the heart of the village.

Schkölen and Wetzdorf — Heideland-Elstertal

The town of Schkölen (approx. 2,800 inhabitants) is located in the Saale-Holzland district (Thuringia) and is part of the administrative community of Heideland-Elstertal-Schkölen. The district of Wetzdorf, with about 200 inhabitants, lies northeast of Schkölen. It's a small region, characterized by agriculture, situated between the Saale and Elster rivers, where village festivals and Advent events sustain social life.
