In 2026, Rostock's Biestow district will once again invite you to the Advent am Dorfteich on the first Advent Sunday. As every year, the focus of the celebration will be the illumination of the Christmas tree and the setting up of the nativity scene figures by the village pond. The Advent star will shine from the church tower, a campfire and festive brass music will accompany the evening. The celebration is organised by the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Biestow together with the association Leben in Biestow. The exact date will be announced by the parish and the local association.

The Advent am Dorfteich is an annual celebration in Rostock's Biestow district, which has retained its rural character in the south of the Hanseatic city with its old village green and medieval village church. On the first Advent Sunday, the neighbourhood comes together by the village pond to kick off the Christmas season together.

Lights and Nativity Scene

The focus of the celebration is the illumination of the Christmas tree and the setting up of the nativity scene figures by the village pond. An Advent star also shines from the church tower, its new support arm financed by donations from the Biestow local council, a children's clothing market, and the association supporting the church ensemble.
