A Brigade Since 1876
The Schneeberg Odenwald Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded in 1876, making it one of the oldest brigades in the Miltenberg district in the state of Bavaria. It has since protected the market town of Schneeberg in the Bavarian Odenwald and its districts Hambrunn and Zittenfelden. 150 years of club history in the summer of 2026 are the occasion for a grand anniversary celebration, which honors not only the brigade itself but the entire community.
Lived Civic Engagement
As in countless small Bavarian communities, the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Schneeberg is far more than just a technical emergency organization: it is a central pillar of village life, organizes the traditional fire brigade festival, and is closely connected to the parish of Mariä Geburt (St. Mary's Birth). Numerous young people from Schneeberg gain their first club experiences in the youth fire brigade.
Festive Parade and Festival Tent
The highlight of the 2026 anniversary celebration will be the festive parade through the village center, featuring partner clubs, neighboring brigades from the Odenwald and Spessart, and numerous local clubs. On the festival grounds on Vereinsstraße, a large festival tent, live music, dance evenings, and a morning pint (Frühschoppen) will ensure a festive atmosphere. A historical vehicle exhibition documents 150 years of fire brigade technology.
Schneeberg in the Odenwald
Schneeberg is located at an altitude of 380 meters in the heart of the Bavarian Odenwald, a wooded low mountain range on the border with Baden-Württemberg and Hesse. The market town is nestled between beech, oak, and mixed forests and has long been a popular starting point for hiking tours. The Whitsun weekend with the traditional pilgrimage to Walldürn and the Corpus Christi procession through the village shape the spiritual and folk festival calendar, into which the 2026 fire brigade festival fits seamlessly.
Family Club Festival
Despite the grand anniversary character, the festival remains at its core a family club festival. Club members, godparents, former commanders, friendly brigades, and neighboring communities are invited to raise a toast with the people of Schneeberg to 150 years of voluntary service.

For the milestone anniversary in 2026, the Schneeberg Volunteer Fire Brigade invites you to a grand festival day on June 20th in the village center. The highlight will be the traditional festive parade through the community with partner clubs, neighboring brigades, traditional costume groups, and local clubs.
On the festival grounds at Vereinsstraße, a large festival tent, live music, a dance evening, and a historical vehicle exhibition will create a festive atmosphere. Accompanying this will be a photo exhibition on the 150-year history of the club and a family program with a children's firefighting challenge and game stations related to fire brigade technology.

Getting There
Schneeberg im Odenwald is located in the south of the Miltenberg district on the Bavarian-Baden border. By car via the B 47 (Mosbach–Amorbach) or the A 81/B 27. Bus 86 runs from Amorbach train station to Schneeberg. Parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the festival grounds.

Admission to the anniversary celebration is free. Food and drinks will be sold at moderate prices in the festival tent and at the club stands.
