A Traditional Autumn Market
The Wendelinusmarkt is one of the most traditional markets in the region and has been held since the 19th century. Every year on the third weekend in October, it transforms the town center of Amorbach – one of the most beautiful old towns in the Bavarian Odenwald – into a large market and festival area. With the 2026 edition, the market will be celebrated for the 191st time.
Crafts, Trade, and Direct Marketers
In the old town, craftsmen, traders, and direct marketers present their goods – from handmade jewelry and regional specialties to artisan products. A varied program of music and culture rounds off the market activities, making the Wendelinusmarkt more than just a shopping stroll.
The Sandstone Vaults
The distinctive hallmark of the Wendelinusmarkt are the historic sandstone vaults: In these old cellars and vaults, local clubs and caterers offer food, drinks, and entertainment. Here, you can fully enjoy the conviviality of the market. The market day on Sunday traditionally begins with an ecumenical market service in the Abbey Church, after which the market activities and Sunday shopping commence.
Wendelinusmarkt — edition 2026
On the third weekend of October 2026, the 17th and 18th, Amorbach will celebrate the 191st Wendelinusmarkt. In the old town, craftsmen, traders, and direct marketers will present their goods, accompanied by a varied music and cultural program.
In the historic sandstone vaults, local clubs and caterers will offer food, drinks, and entertainment. Sunday begins with an ecumenical market service in the Abbey Church, followed by market activities and Sunday shopping.
